Course Description

This course equips you with the skills and confidence to provide lifesaving care in remote or isolated settings where medical assistance may be delayed. Training is practical, hands-on, and aligned with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, workplace requirements, and national clinical standards.

  • How to assess a casualty and ensure scene safety

  • How to contact and relay accurate information to emergency services

  • How to triage and manage multiple casualties

  • How to provide CPR and basic first aid

  • How to manage remote-specific conditions, including hypothermia, hyperthermia, and shock

  • How to treat head, neck, and spinal injuries

  • How to use tourniquets and haemostatic dressings for life-threatening bleeding

  • How to complete incident documentation and debrief

  • How to recognise psychological impacts and seek support if needed
